If you’ve ever wanted an affirming therapist who understands poly relationships and won’t raise an eyebrow if you mention multiple partners, you’ve come to the right place!
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and a registered art therapist with extensive experience and training in helping people who are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship issues, life changes, and other challenges. I utilize talk therapy, art therapy, EMDR, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), somatic techniques, and mindfulness to help people manage stress and overwhelm, explore their identities, understand themselves better, improve their relationships, and change unhelpful patterns to find balance in their lives. My therapeutic style is client-centered, trauma-informed, and warm but direct. Laughter, tears, swearing, dark humor, movie references, and stories about your pets are all welcome in sessions with me!
I work with clients age 18+ in person at my office in the South Bay, and via telehealth video sessions across the state of California. If you’d like to get started or you have any questions, I’d love to hear from you! Please reach out to schedule a free 15 minute consultation.

I’m called to provide therapy that sheds light on what you find the most important and learn to explore what you find difficult. The work we do together can focus on many things. Some of them might be struggles with procrastination, chronic overthinking, difficulty with family, burnout, or prejudice at work, home, or school. You may feel like “too much,” “not enough,” or something mixed up in between.
My approach looks like focusing on what you feel in the moment, in the room and in your environment. We will look at what things mean to you as you walk in your own individual shoes, not what you could or should be. If you do feel like you should or could be “better” we can work on what you want to improve but explore why that’s important to you while learning to be a little kinder to yourself. We call this approach existential, humanistic, gestalt, relational and affirming.
For couples/poly relationships, it looks similar. We will explore making meaning of your experience in your relationship, use concrete skills to improve what you think is important but also challenge what may be difficult to see through the clouds.
Social justice and humanitarian efforts are important to my work. I use equitable and decolonized approaches that attempt to amend systematic discrimination and historical injustice and to bring to light those who are stigmatized or otherwise invisible.
I’ve worked mostly with adults ages 18 to 65 from all walks of life using various methods. My approach is existential, humanistic, gestalt, relational and affirming.
I have a strong, data-driven track record of excellent client care with both couples/polyamorous relationships and individuals.

534 AVALON DR., SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA, USA, 94080 (PRACTICE ADDRESS; SERVICES ARE FULLY ONLINE)
Welcome! I specialize in family/relationship dynamics (including polyamory), LGBTQIA+ experiences, substance abuse, and varying mental health concerns such as ADHD, OCD, and anxiety. Not only do I pull from my clinical training in these topics, but also from my lived experiences and how they have affected not only me, but my relationships and family. These include being non-binary, queer, a parent, a transplant from the midwest, and personally experiencing trauma. I use my clinical expertise and lived experiences to create judgment free and individualized mental health care, which is at the core of how I practice.
Relationships are complex. That is why my goal is to not only help strengthen these dynamic relationships, but also help you explore your own values, wants, and needs and how to advocate for yourself. I also specialize in working with people in the polyamorous community or those wanting to explore possibly opening up their relationships.
I currently see individuals, couples, and families, both adults and adolescents via telehealth. I offer times both in the morning/afternoon, as well as in the evenings. If you believe we may be a good fit, please contact me by phone or email to schedule a free consultation.
333 W ROOSEVELT ST, PHOENIX, AZ, 85003, USA
I specialize in helping individuals and partners navigate the extra something that makes their relationship(s) a unique challenge. Folks I work with are often loving outside of the cisheteronormative & mononormative structure such as ethical non-monogamy, kink/BDSM, or other LGBTQ2S+ relationships. I also work with people whose experience of the world may be impacting their relationships, such as folks who are neurodivergent, individuals living with disability, or folks for whom trauma is showing up. I strive to help folks design the intentional relationships they are struggling to create on their own.
What we’ll work on together is understanding how the particulars of your life intersect with your relationship and shape your needs, communication, and boundaries. We will begin a dialogue about the intersection of the relationship(s) and the condition(s)/context(s) which can help to improve the level of understanding and empathy in the relationship.
I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation if you wish to learn more about how we can best address your specific needs and to help you determine whether I would be a good person to collaborate with on your journey.
Please see my website for the most up-to-date information about my practice, including COVID-19 policies, and availability.
VANCOUVER, BC, V5V 0A9
I believe every individual is the expert of their lived experience and is equipped with the resources they need to grow, change, and thrive, and I also believe we all need a little help to get there sometimes. I am here to walk alongside you in your journey, offering empathy, challenging harmful beliefs, and providing tools for personal growth.
I have experience supporting folks who are unhoused, sex workers, children in the foster care system, foster parents, people experiencing infertility, people considering their pregnancy options, birth parents, adoptees, traditional families, people experiencing addiction, anxiety, depression, PSTD, and other mental health conditions, LGBTQ+ folks, BIPOC folks, people in the kink community, people in ethically non-monogamous or polyamorous relationships, people considering divorce or separation, children, teenagers, and adults in all stages of life.
I am committed to equity and inclusion, both personally and professionally and my goal is always that my clients feel seen and supported in all aspects of their identity. I am LGBTQ+, and gender affirming, sex/kink positive and welcome all relationship configurations. I recognize and value all types of diversity including ethnicity, race, size, gender, sexual orientation, class, religion, and abilities.

Are you newly venturing into non-monogamy and are feeling excited about navigating this new dynamic, but eager to make sure you are doing it “right”? Or maybe you’ve been enjoying a multi-partner relationship structure for some time, but have recently encountered some new obstacles that are causing you to feel stressed and unsure. You might also benefit from having support with other life challenges that have nothing at all to do with navigating non-monogamy, yet you want the freedom to show up to counseling sessions as your authentic self. I’m here to help. I can help you overcome challenges, strengthen your relationships, and turn stressors into growth opportunities. As humans, we possess an innate capacity for personal growth. Our quality of life is enhanced when we tap into that ability. Counseling provides an effective route towards accessing personal strengths and increasing life satisfaction.
I specialize in supporting triads, dyads and individual adults who are members of non-monogamous and LGBTQIA+ communities. I also provide counseling for monogamous partners of polyamorous individuals. I employ pragmatic and evidenced-based therapy skills that are individually tailored to relational or individual needs. Regardless of where you are on your relationship journey, it is never too late or too early to reach out for support.
Please note that I am a telehealth-based provider, and I am out of network with insurance companies. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to discuss starting counseling services with me, which can be scheduled through my website at www.life-tree-counseling.com or by emailing me at [email protected].
