Howard Thurman, spiritual director to Martin Luther King Jr: said “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do it, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
I work with people of all faiths or spiritual paths, or no faith/path, who seek what makes them come alive and want to manifest it. I don’t have your answers. Instead I will accompany you in finding yours.
I have a special commitment to supporting and affirming LGBTQIA people, polyamorous/ethically non-monogamous people, sex workers, pagans, the kink/fetish community, unhoused people etc. Not because people in these communities need to be saved, rather, in my decades in/with these communities I’ve experienced people feeling undeserving of spiritual care or fearing they’ll be judged by those giving spiritual care.
I offer traditional spiritual direction and am particularly fascinated with the design and use of roleplaying games (like Dungeons & Dragons) for spiritual growth, exploration, and healing. I learned a lot about myself playing and running games since 1979 and have spent several years researching and developing how to use games in spiritual direction groups and with individuals.
I am also available for life-cycle events – weddings, baby naming, funerals, etc. I perform traditional and innovative ceremonies. If you want to get married by a Jedi, wizard, pirate, or starship captain, I will do that. Please note, I do not portray specific characters, just general categories.
