Jared Boot-Haury PsyD, ABPP

Populations served: Dr. Jared Boot-Haury (they/them) is a queer board-certified and licensed clinical psychologist and kink and poly-affirming AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and Certified Sex Therapist Supervisor in San Francisco. Their clinical areas of interest include identity exploration, psychosexual concerns, anxiety, and depression. Evidence-based approaches to treatment they utilize include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and emotion-focused therapy (EFT); they training in EFT through the International Society for Emotion-Focused Therapy and CBT training through the Beck Institute. In addition to individual therapy, Dr. Boot-Haury is a certified member and mentor of WPATH and is competent in providing surgical assessment letters for transgender and gender-diverse clients. Their goal in treatment is to help clients feel safe, understood, and supported on their journey toward self-acceptance and healing. Dr. Boot-Haury has received national and international awards, has been published in several scientific journals, and has presented their work on LGBTQ+ health at numerous national and international conferences. They continue to stay involved in research because they believe this helps them be a better clinician for their clients. They earned their bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, a master’s and doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the Michigan School of Psychology, and a graduate certificate in LGBT Health Policy and Practice from George Washington University. The completed their APA-accredited postdoctoral fellowship at the San Francisco VA Medical Center with a specialty in LGBTQIA+ interprofessional health after completing their APA-accredited doctoral internship.
