My practice is humanistic, person-centered, and relational. Trauma thrives in isolation and denial, and deep healing happens in relationships. Autonomy and agency are central in our therapeutic relationship. Through sessions, my goal is to help you reconnect with the most authentic version of yourself and free yourself from limiting beliefs that systemic and interpersonal trauma may have placed on you. We will also reconnect with and define your values and inner sense of intuition. There can be a lot of pain and deep contemplation in therapy. There is also profound relief and joy in being seen. Many of us grow up believing that we are unacceptable in some way which can lead to shame and repression. I’m certain that together, we will create greater confidence and joy in your ability to just be. I’m looking forward to speaking with you.
I work with emotional dysregulation, (C)PTSD, insecure attachment styles, perfectionism, guilt/shame, grief, spiritual crises, identity integration, depression, anxiety, and relationship stress. I service individuals with practice kink, ENM/polyamory. I service individuals engaged in sex work. I practice from a feminist, anti-oppressive, and disability justice philosophy.
I offer a DBT Skills Group and a Collage Processing Group in person. Please reach out if you are interested in hearing more about intake.
I’m fluent in English. I do individual, couples, and group sessions with adults.

Here’s what I offer - a space that is entirely yours, focused on your development, your goals, your emotions, your relationships, your history, your traumas, your triumphs, and your hopes.
As someone with a lot of identities - queer, poly, transgender, Taiwanese-American, autistic, and more - my therapeutic stance combines my professional and personal experiences with what I learn from you so we may tailor the best approach. This can be more somatic-leaning, philosophically-inclined, skills-based, or any combination thereof. And since there is no way around the fact that we live in a society, therapy must also confront our responsibility to ourselves, our community, and the external factors that narrow our choices in the first place. Trained and practiced primarily in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), a cousin of CBT, as well as given my identities, I offer a unique perspective on both the process of therapy and the environmental pressures we face.

My practice is influenced by the work therapists such as Harlene Anderson, Johnella Bird, Michael White, and Art Fisher. I am also interested in reading and editing pieces of writing that assists in the understanding of non-mainstream ways of living and loving particularly those that exist outside of, or challenge, the heteronorm.
I specialise in working with people in non-exclusive and polyamorous relationships, LGBTQ folk, sexuality, concerns about pornography ‘addiction’, ‘sex addiction’ and erectile dysfunction.
While my primary language is English, I do speak some Swedish and sometimes Swedish-speakers consult me in Swedish. Appointments in-person in Australia may attract a rebate through Medicare. Those outside of Australia can make payment for consultations through Paypal in a range of currencies. I work with people all over the world. Inside all of us is a deep longing to live a rich, full, meaningful life. Yet sometimes it feels like something is in the way. Fear. Anxiety. Pain. That’s where therapy comes in. I am passionate about helping people overcome their fears and live full and values-driven lives. My approach is collaborative, holistic, and always based on cutting-edge psychological research. I provide time-efficient, evidence-based, individualized services, to help you make sustainable changes in your daily routines, your relationship patterns, and your mindset. Some of the approaches I draw from include ACT, CBT, mindfulness, DBT, and exposure therapy. As I am also a certified yoga instructor, I can incorporate gentle movement if requested.
I offer a safe space for exploring issues around sexuality, intimacy, and belonging. I am LGBTQ, Kink, and Poly educated, aware, and friendly. Holding non-judgmental and compassionate space for others is paramount to me in my practice and in my life. All are welcome in my office: every background, worldview, sexual and gender orientation.
I see adults, currently only in individual format. While the focus is on you, we may discuss your partners, metamours, comets, etc. in the context of your growth in treatment, and I can make referrals as needed for adjunct partner/family therapy work, if desired.
The initial phone consultation, where we discuss your needs and determine if I am a good fit for you, is complementary. My rate for a standard 50 minute session is $185. Extended 80 minute sessions are also available for an additional fee. See my website for full descriptions of services and rates. I do not accept insurance or sliding scale at this time, though you may request an invoice to submit as an out of network service to your insurance company.

As a counselor, I believe that as individuals, we experience life through a lens shaped by many environmental, biological, and societal factors. Through better understanding our experiences and becoming aware of these factors that shaped us, we are able to move forward through life more authentically. I believe that finding meaning in life’s pain can bring great healing and that the broken-ness we feel is indicative of the journey of life. I believe that therapy can be a great tool in discovering one’s potential and uncovering beliefs that are keeping us stuck in the pain. I believe that you are the expert in your life and that you inherently possess the tools needed to become un-stuck.
I work primarily from an existential and person-centered framework and find great power incorporating different techniques and modalities from other theories if/when the situation is right. Throughout my time practicing in various clinical settings, I have worked with a range of individuals with a variety of life concerns including work concerns, interpersonal issues, depression, anxiety, and religious trauma. I am an LGBTQ+ provider and have a deep passion for working with individuals that may be experiencing stressors related to these identities. My hope for our journey together is that you feel supported and empowered to live a life of authenticity.

Hi, I’m Ashley.
I help people navigate their inner parts and ways they show up in their own life, with gentleness and curiosity. I help people find healing through trauma, suicidality, and their LGBTQIA+ identity. I approach sessions with compassion and warmth, while holding the belief that your story is not over, and there is hope to be found.
I am able to meet clients where they are at, and walk with them through the heavy and light parts of being alive. I hold an authentic, honest session that strives to inform, encourage, and support clients through their challenges. I view therapy as a team effort, with the client and I walking together towards their goals. I believe clients are the experts of their lives, and I get the privilege of helping them come home to themselves. I help clients learn to understand their emotions, learn how to show up for themselves authentically, and skills to navigate difficult situations.
I’m trained in EMDR and IFS, two methods utilized for treating trauma. I have worked with individuals across the lifespan, and currently enjoy working with adults.

My commitment to my clients is to provide a healthy and healing relational environment to grow more fully into who they want to be. The framework I hold is very relational. Relationships are the context to which we grow our psyche. We often are solely focused on what our relationships provide for our current or imminent needs. Beneath the surface of the immediate is a deeper development of who we are and how we view ourselves and the world around us. My goal is to increase your awareness of your thought patterns, and ultimately to strengthen your choice and influence over these patterns.
Practically speaking, I help people from all walks of life and world views. My goal is to empower you to be present and confident with who you are and how you interact with others. I help people customize their way of being and relationships.
